Could you bloom?

A new scheme aims to help small businesses grow in 2011

A new campaign to help people start up and grow their own businesses has been launched by home business company,Enterprise Nation. The scheme has attracted solid support from businesses and organisations across the country.
The campaign is designed to motivate people towards having an entrepreneurial future. As recent research has showed the key role small businesses have to play in economic recovery, the scheme will offer a series of projects, courses and live events to support business owners and entrepreneurs. For instance, Bitsy an online networking forum for small businesses encourages companies to support each other, helping them to grow and make new contacts. Enterprise agencies, business support providers, corporate suppliers and small business owners are being asked by the campaign organisers to come forward and pledge support.

Emma Jones, who founded the campaign, said: “With an overall target to help 500,000 people realise their entrepreneurial ambitions in 2011, that’s equal to helping just over 9,600 people per week. We will take count after the first month but with the support pledged so far we’re confident of being on target. If we keep going at this rate, business will be booming and blooming in the UK!”
