Pay freeze for nearly 50% of UK SME directors in 2009
The Institute of Directors has announced that almost half of UK company directors in small to medium businesses had their pay frozen or cut last year.
Pay rose for 54% of directors, but the average increase was 2.5%, below inflation.
The survey by the IoD researched 1,500 companies, including a number of small and medium size enterprises.
This comes in stark comparison to average pay increase of 55% over the past year for FTSE 10 directors.
