Intern Finance Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as an intern. You’ll be introduced to a range of tasks as part of the team that provides an outsourced finance function to our clients.

You’ll learn everything from bookkeeping to financial strategy, from business operations to HR and payroll functions. It’s a brilliant opportunity to learn the basics of outsourced finance and business solutions, and gain the experience needed for a career in the finance industry.

Inspira is an exciting and fast-growing outsourcing business that specialises in the ‘finance function’ of a business. We’re more than bookkeepers, providing a fully outsourced finance function, from data entry, to financial controller and virtual Finance Director services.

We service over 50 owner-managed businesses, across a range of business sizes, with our largest being £12m in turnover. We work with clients across a range of sectors, servicing both UK and European markets. As a member of the Inspira team, you’ll work with your own client portfolio, getting to know their needs and building a brilliant working relationship.

Main responsibilities

  • Sales and purchase ledger input and processing.
  • Production of sales invoices.
  • Processing cash payments, card transactions and ledger posting.
  • Bank reconciliation and processing of bank transactions.
  • Producing VAT returns and VAT reconciliations.
  • Supporting the payroll function.
  • Answering the phones and making tea etc.
  • Forming professional relationships with clients.

Your experience and skills

  • Excellent numeracy and financial awareness.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to build professional relationships.
  • Excellent project management, time management and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Clean UK driving license (not essential), but able to travel to clients if required.
